Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 1379 expand the Attorney General's role in addressing human trafficking by establishing a new pilot program. This program will define key terms, set eligibility requirements for participants, and allow for specific expenses to be covered, such as support services for victims. By requiring electronic submission of certain reports and compliance, the bill aims for better tracking and accountability in the fight against labor and sexual trafficking. This matters because it provides better resources and structured support for victims, potentially improving their chances of recovery and reintegration into society.
