The latest amendment to SB 40 removes a provision that previously held certain property owners and businesses liable for how firearms are transported or stored on their premises. Additionally, it clarifies specific rules about what individuals can and cannot do under the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act, including provisions for filing civil actions and the award of damages. These changes could potentially limit the responsibilities of property owners regarding firearms and make it easier for individuals to seek compensation in related legal cases.
