Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 1309 modifies the existing language regarding the Roads and Driver Safety Fund to clarify how funds are managed and allocated. Specifically, the amendment underscores that the fund is continuous, without restrictions tied to the fiscal year, allowing for more flexible budgeting by the Department of Transportation. This matters because it can improve the efficiency of road and bridge project funding and potentially expedite necessary transportation improvements across the state.
