The proposed amendment to HB 1281 removes the original content of the bill and replaces it with a new framework for a "Return to Teach Signing Bonus Act." This change establishes a program that will offer signing bonuses to teachers who return to Oklahoma public schools, contingent on available funding. This update matters because it aims to incentivize more teachers to rejoin the education system, which can help address teacher shortages and improve educational quality in the state.
