What changed in the latest version
111 added · 19 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of Senate Bill 159 has removed plans for the establishment of the Oklahoma Unified Veteran Services Commission, which would have included specific membership, duties, and reporting requirements. Instead, it focuses solely on the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs setting up its headquarters and a resource center in Del City, alongside a publicly available online portal for coordinating veteran services. This change simplifies the approach by consolidating efforts under one department, making it clearer for veterans to access the support they need. It's important because it could lead to more efficient service delivery without the added complexity of a new commission.
