The updated version of SB 792 includes additional language that explicitly requires schools to implement policies recognizing the right of students to defend themselves in situations of bullying. This change is significant because it underscores the need for schools to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards bullying while also ensuring that students feel empowered to protect themselves. By defining self-defense and requiring schools to better communicate their policies, the bill aims to create a safer environment for students.
