Plain-language change summary

The latest revision of Senate Bill 863 simplifies the process for obtaining a handgun license by allowing applicants to complete a firearms safety and training course either in person or through an online option. This change aims to make training more accessible, particularly for those who may have difficulty attending in-person classes. Additionally, the bill eliminates unnecessary paperwork associated with listing specific firearms on application forms, further streamlining the licensing process. These updates are intended to facilitate responsible gun ownership while ensuring that all applicants receive the necessary training.
