The latest version of SB 554 has made a significant change regarding teacher compensation. Instead of implementing salary increases for teachers who receive certain certifications, the bill now directs that stipends will be provided instead. This matters because stipends will not be factored into other salary calculations, potentially affecting teachers' long-term earnings and retirement benefits.
