The updated version of Senate Bill 388 clarifies the eligibility criteria for students enrolled in charter schools who wish to participate in extracurricular activities offered by their home school districts. Specifically, students can join these activities only if their charter school does not offer the same activities and if there are no course requirements tied to those activities. This change matters because it ensures that students have access to a broader range of activities while also maintaining clear boundaries on eligibility based on available offerings at their enrolled school.
