What changed in the latest version

In the latest version of House Bill No. 1122, the language around public purchasing practices has been updated. Notably, references to purchasing from prison industries have been removed, streamlining the bill to focus specifically on state officials and employees' purchasing activities. This change matters because it could lead to clearer guidelines for how state funds are spent and possibly improve transparency and competition in state purchasing, which may enhance public trust in these processes.
