The recent changes to HB 1393 shift the focus from payday lending organizations to earned wage access providers. The amended bill now defines terms related to earned wage access, which allows consumers to access their earned but unpaid income. This adjustment is significant because it updates the regulatory framework to ensure consumer protections and clarify the roles of providers in delivering these services, ultimately aiming to help consumers manage their finances more effectively.
