The amendment to House Bill 897 made a few key adjustments to the licensing requirements for businesses engaged in alarm systems. The most significant change is that businesses must now employ a licensed qualifying agent, but this requirement seems clearer and possibly stricter. Additionally, the amendment added clarity regarding the confidentiality of private security information, which aims to enhance the privacy protections related to security devices. These changes are important because they help ensure better regulation of security industry practices while also protecting individuals' private data.
