The amendments to SB 912 clarify the provisions related to public health research and protections for employees facing discrimination due to pregnancy, childbirth, or menopause. Specifically, the bill highlights the intention to allocate $5 million for future health research and reinforces that employers cannot discriminate against employees based on these health issues. This matters because it enhances support for women's health issues in the workplace and ensures that employees are treated fairly, promoting a healthier workforce.
