Plain-language change summary

In the updated version of House Bill 1197, the addition clarifies that the program will offer forgivable loans to support educators with expenses related to obtaining licensure and enrolling in an approved educator program. This change is significant because it broadens the financial assistance available to those entering the teaching profession, potentially making it easier for new teachers to obtain necessary certifications and address related costs. Additionally, the bill now confirms that the revisions to the Teaching Fellows Program apply retroactively to all participants, ensuring that those already involved also benefit from these updates.
