In the revised version of Senate Bill 283, specific language and formatting regarding funding for sickle cell medical centers have been clarified and standardized. Funding will still total one million dollars, including a designated amount for Duke University Medical Center, but the text has been adjusted for clarity. This matters because clearer language helps ensure that the intended recipients understand the funding allocations, which is crucial for effectively addressing sickle cell disease in the community.
