What changed in the latest version

The recent changes to House Bill 823 clarify the appointment process for individuals on an advisory committee. Specifically, the updated version allows boards of county commissioners to appoint one additional representative in multi-county districts and two in single-county districts while also specifying how to fill any vacancies on the committee. This matters because it ensures a more structured approach to representation, which could lead to better decision-making in the development process and strengthen local governance.
