The revised version of House Bill 575 changes the post-release supervision periods for certain felons. Specifically, the time deducted from a prisoner's maximum sentence upon release is adjusted for Class B1 through E felons from 12 months to 36 months, and for Class F and G felons, it remains at nine months. This update is significant because it clarifies and potentially lengthens the supervision period for certain offenders, aiming to enhance public safety and ensure better reintegration of individuals back into the community.
