The updated version of Senate Bill 374 introduces a new article to enhance regulations on fire suppression systems, ensuring that they include necessary components for better safety. A key change is the inclusion of a requirement for firms that only conduct routine inspections to obtain a permit, emphasizing the importance of accountability in fire safety practices. Additionally, there is a specified non-refundable permit fee of $100, which funds the regulatory oversight, making the process more manageable for the state. These changes aim to improve fire safety standards and ensure that all service providers meet certain professional requirements.
