Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill HB 883 includes a few key changes. Among them, the oversight section clarifies that if a student receiving grant funds is placed in a private school, that school must be approved by the Department of Public Instruction to ensure it meets state and federal education laws. This addition is important because it emphasizes the need for oversight on private institutions, thereby helping to ensure that students with special education needs receive appropriate services in compliant schools. Additionally, a minor adjustment in wording was made to enhance clarity throughout the bill.
