The recent version of SB 694 includes language to ensure that a person's driver's license can be automatically reinstated after being revoked under specific circumstances, provided they pay a restoration fee and meet any other requirements. This change aims to reduce barriers that prevent individuals with court debt from regaining their driving privileges, which can improve their job prospects and overall ability to contribute to the community. The intent is to support those who may struggle financially due to existing debts while promoting access to employment opportunities.
