The revised version of Senate Bill 324 includes a change in the wording regarding the establishment of Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) for various pollutants. Specifically, it clarifies that the bill will consider setting MCLs for contaminants without altering the existing health standards established by federal authorities. This change matters because it emphasizes the bill's intent to align with federal guidelines while still ensuring that harmful substances in drinking water are managed appropriately.
