The latest version of Senate Bill 789 has clarified and streamlined the language around tax credits related to mortgage and payment assistance programs. It specifically emphasizes the roles within local law enforcement, such as sheriff and police officer, without changing their eligibility for benefits. This adjustment is important as it ensures a clear understanding of who is eligible for the tax credit, potentially helping more individuals access assistance they need.
