The latest version of Senate Bill 462 makes a few important clarifications regarding the reimbursement for certain members of the General Assembly and the rules around filling vacancies in the House of Representatives. Specifically, it specifies that 18 members will receive per diem and travel expenses, and it sets clearer guidelines on how soon a vacancy can be filled after it occurs. These changes are significant as they ensure that members can receive necessary support while also clarifying the process for maintaining representative continuity in the legislature.
