Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 2492 changes the eligibility age for benefits paid to eligible children of teachers from 22 to 23 years old, as long as they are full-time students. This change matters because it allows these students an additional year of financial support, making it easier for them to complete their education without the stress of losing benefits prematurely. This adjustment aims to better support families and recognize the growing challenges of financing education.
