Plain-language change summary

The amended version of SB 184 adds a provision for an updated criminal history check during the renewal or restoration of licenses, specifying that license holders won't have to pay for this check. It also allows license holders to place their licenses on inactive status for up to six years without incurring renewal fees until they decide to return to active status. This change is important because it makes it easier for individuals to maintain their professional licenses without facing financial burdens while they are temporarily inactive. Additionally, it ensures that service members can restore their licenses without fees after returning from duty, supporting those who have served in the military.
