Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 1741 clarifies that when a self-insured leasing company declares a vehicle a total loss due to damage, that vehicle will automatically be classified as salvage. This change is significant because it establishes a clear legal definition of what constitutes a salvage vehicle for leasing companies, which can help streamline processes related to vehicle insurance and resale. Additionally, this clarification ensures that consumers and businesses are better informed about the status of damaged vehicles.
