What changed in the latest version

The revised version of SB 2325 adds a requirement for the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to adopt rules for implementing actions taken during emergencies, while removing a section that previously allowed the Commissioner to authorize other state banks to operate in Illinois during an emergency. This change matters because it centralizes authority and establishes a clearer framework for responding to banking emergencies, potentially improving the management of these situations and ensuring better regulatory oversight.
