The recent amendment to SB 2748 updates the Chicago Park District Act by removing the previous restriction that bonds could only be issued before January 1, 2004. Now, the Park District is authorized to issue $128 million in bonds for museums, aquariums, and art museums at any time, providing greater financial flexibility. This change is important because it allows the district to secure necessary funding for cultural institutions without a time restriction, which could enhance community access to the arts and education.
