Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 79 extend the tax relief provisions for members of the Illinois National Guard and reserve forces who are called to active duty. Under the new changes, these individuals will not be considered delinquent on their property tax payments while they are deployed overseas and will have 30 days after returning to active duty to catch up on payments without incurring penalties. This matters because it provides crucial financial support to reservists and guard members during an already challenging time, ensuring they don't face additional financial stress due to their military service.
