What changed in the latest version
102 added · 104 removedPlain-language change summary
The recent amendments to Bill SB 859 remove a prior provision that allowed for teachers to be suspended from their duties before a hearing, if deemed necessary for student safety. Now, teachers must have an opportunity for a hearing before any suspension takes place. This change is important because it ensures that teachers' rights are protected and that they cannot be removed from their positions without due process, promoting fairness in the suspension and appeal process.
