Plain-language change summary

The revised SB 2445 bill updates the regulations for selling alcohol near schools in large municipalities. It now applies specifically to cities with populations over 1,000,000 instead of over 300,000 and sets stricter distance requirements, requiring that premises be at least 350 feet away from the school. Additionally, it imposes more detailed criteria for applicants, such as requiring them to have a specific amount of restaurant space. These changes aim to better manage the sale of alcohol near educational institutions, ensuring that alcohol sales are ancillary to food sales and maintaining community safety.
