Plain-language change summary

The amendment to SB 662 introduces a new provision for the Community Mental Health Medicaid Trust Fund, specifying how federal funds for community mental health services will be allocated. It establishes that a significant portion of these funds, specifically the first $73 million received, will be deposited directly into this trust fund, and outlines the distribution of any excess funds between the General Revenue Fund and the trust fund. This change is important because it enhances funding stability for mental health services, ensuring that they receive a dedicated source of money when federal support is received.
