The amendment to Bill HB 1191 changes the deadline for completing a redevelopment project in the TIF District established by the Village of Gardner from 23 years to 35 years after the ordinance was adopted. This longer time frame gives the village more opportunity to finish the project, which may help ensure its success and reduce financial pressure. This change matters because it could lead to better planning and completion of important community projects that contribute to local development.
