The recent amendment to Bill SB 1738 updates the Illinois Vehicle Code to include special weight limits for specially equipped vehicles that are used solely for recycling, in addition to those used for garbage and refuse collection. This change is important because it recognizes the unique operational needs of recycling vehicles, allowing them to operate more effectively while still adhering to safety and regulatory standards. By adjusting these weight limits, the bill aims to support recycling efforts and improve waste management practices in Illinois.
