Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 1968 introduces a new provision allowing Williamson County to acquire land for coal mining and transportation facilities, either through purchase, gift, or condemnation. It also permits the county to expedite this process, known as "quick-take," for the next 12 months specifically for constructing a railroad spur line. This change matters because it streamlines land acquisition for infrastructure development related to coal mining, which could enhance local economic growth and job creation in Williamson County.
