The amended version of Bill HB 4920 clarifies that a driver who causes an accident resulting in injury or death to a pedestrian must be formally notified, at least five days in advance, to submit to a required examination. This change emphasizes the need for due process, ensuring that individuals have notice before being mandated to take an exam. It matters because it aims to balance public safety with the rights of drivers, providing them a clear opportunity to comply before facing any penalties like license suspension.
