What changed in the latest version
9 added · 9 removedPlain-language change summary
The amended version of SB 1793 includes a change in Section 407 that increases the penalties for adults who illegally give controlled substances to minors. Specifically, these offenders can now face up to twice the maximum prison sentence and fines compared to previous provisions. This change is significant because it aims to deter the distribution of dangerous substances to young people by imposing more severe consequences on those who violate this law. Additionally, a section from the bill that did not change substance-related content was removed, streamlining the focus.
