Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill HB 4283 clarify and solidify the exemption for charitable institutions that raise funds specifically for children’s research hospitals. These organizations will no longer have to follow certain licensing requirements and restrictions typically applied to raffles, provided they use the proceeds for charitable, scientific, or educational purposes. This change is important because it aims to simplify the fundraising process for these charities, potentially allowing them to generate more support for critical research and services for children.
