Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill SB 76 replace the term "Director" with "Secretary" in reference to the head of the Department of Human Services, which clarifies who will oversee the nutrition outreach program. Additionally, the revised version narrows down the list of state agencies involved in coordinating food assistance programs, emphasizing a more targeted approach by focusing specifically on the Department on Aging and the State Superintendent of Education. These updates matter because they streamline the administration of food assistance programs, potentially leading to more efficient outreach and support for eligible populations, especially in high-risk areas.
