Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Bill SB 377 clarifies that health insurance coverage for employees of municipalities, including home rule municipalities, must include specific post-mastectomy care benefits. It also emphasizes that the requirement for these health benefits is an exclusive power of the State, meaning local governments cannot opt out of this obligation. This change matters because it ensures that all self-insuring municipalities provide necessary health care benefits, thereby enhancing the overall health coverage for employees in those areas.
