Bill Text
What changed in the latest version
18 added · 11 removedPlain-language change summary
The revised bill HB 536 has reduced the time limits for bringing actions related to gender-related violence. Previously, victims had 10 years to file a claim, but now they have only 7 years for certain claims and 2 years for others. This change is significant as it establishes stricter deadlines to encourage victims to come forward sooner, while still allowing minors additional time once they reach adulthood.
