What changed in the latest version
48 added · 17 removedPlain-language change summary
The amended bill now includes a new section, Section 22.3a, focusing on air quality management, while removing some language from Section 8 that detailed the harmful impacts of air pollution. This change matters because it introduces a more specific framework for managing air quality, likely aiming at clearer regulations or responsibilities in addressing air pollution issues. By emphasizing management over the previous broad statements of harm, the bill may better guide actions to improve air quality and safeguard public health.

_____________e___________ The General Assembly finds that pollution of the air of this State constitutes a menace to public health and welfare, creates public nuisances, adds to cleaning costs, accelerates the deterioration of materials, adversely affects agriculture, business, industry, recreation, climate, and visibility, depresses property values, and offends the senses.
It is the purpose of this Title to restore, maintain, and enhance the purity of the air of this State in order to protect health, welfare, property, and the quality of life and to assure that no air contaminants are discharged into the atmosphere without being given the degree of treatment or control necessary to prevent pollution.
