The recent amendment to SB 632 adjusts the wording in the "Workers' Occupational Diseases Act" primarily by clarifying the definition of "employer." While the original bill had broader language, the revised version specifically highlights various types of employers, such as hospitals and charitable organizations, making it clear that they are included in this definition. This change is significant because it ensures that a wider range of employers are held accountable for occupational diseases among their employees, which could lead to better protection and support for workers in various sectors.
