The recent changes to SB 179 update the qualifications for areas to qualify as enterprise zones. Notably, the specifications regarding the total area of an enterprise zone have been adjusted, allowing for more flexibility in size depending on the collaboration of local governments. This matters because it may encourage more regions to seek enterprise zone designation, potentially boosting economic development in those areas.
