Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 2285 revise the Illinois Dental Practice Act by redefining "general supervision" and clarifying what it means to be a "patient of record." Additionally, the changes ensure that members of the Board of Dentistry do not have direct ties to dental schools or programs, which could prevent conflicts of interest during licensing examinations. These changes are important as they aim to improve fairness and transparency in dental practices and examinations, ultimately benefiting patients and practitioners alike.
