Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HB 966 clarifies that certain appointments within the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation will no longer be exempt from Senate confirmation. Previously, a section of an executive order stated that four director positions within this department could be appointed without requiring Senate approval. By making these roles subject to Senate confirmation, the amendment enhances legislative oversight and accountability in the appointments process, ensuring that these important positions are subject to public scrutiny.
