Plain-language change summary

The changes to SB 594 involve removing a phrase about taxes on food and alcoholic beverages, which simplifies the language around existing tax regulations. This shift clarifies that current taxes related to food and drinks consumed on the premises remain unchanged, ensuring that local municipalities still have control over these taxes. This matters because it helps prevent any confusion regarding the tax authority of local governments while maintaining established tax practices.
