Plain-language change summary

The updated bill, SB 2844, establishes a new Veterans Advisory Council in Illinois, replacing the previous structure of individual Veterans Home Advisory Councils for each veterans home. The new council will include a broader representation with specific appointments from state legislators and veterans, allowing for better oversight and support for veteran services statewide. This change is significant as it aims to create a more unified approach to addressing the needs of veterans across the state, rather than focusing solely on individual homes.
