What changed in the latest version

The latest version of Bill SB 883 has removed specific reporting requirements related to the State Appellate Defender's financial requests and eliminated some unnecessarily detailed wording. The main change allows the Appellate Defender to simplify their funding requests from the Capital Litigation Trust Fund without the previous reporting obligations. This revision is significant because it streamlines the process for securing defense funding in capital cases outside of Cook County, making it easier for the Appellate Defender to access necessary resources.
