Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill SB 922 involve shifting the focus of the legislation from the Non-Support Punishment Act to the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act. This means that instead of concentrating on how to penalize individuals who fail to pay child support, the bill now aims to standardize support issues across state lines. The amendments include renumbering and modifying various sections to better reflect this new focus, which could help streamline support processes and ensure that family support laws are more consistent and effective across different jurisdictions. This change matters because it could make it easier for families to receive the support they need, regardless of where they live.
